CATS to perform The Hollow

March 05, 2010

An am-dram group is reviving a crime classic later this month with a rendition of an Agatha Christie play.

Crowthorne Amateur Theatrical Society (CATS) is performing Christie’s The Hollow as its spring show from Thursday, March 25, to Saturday, March 27.

The Hollow is about Dr John Cristow, played by Steve Smith, his mistress, his ex-mistress, his wife and a whole host of other people who all become murder suspects when he dies.

Unravelling the murder-mystery is a task for Inspector Colquhoun and Sergeant Penny, played by David Rhodes and Donald Lee respectively.

Director Angie Chitty first directed The Hollow in the early 1980s. She said: “It has been a new challenge this time around with different personalities but the the memories are flooding back.

“I am hoping for a smooth piece of theatre – it is a play that keeps the audience guessing to the end.”

Shows start each evening at 7.30pm in the Parish Hall in Heath Hill Road South.

For tickets, priced at £8.50 for adults and £7 for concessions, call the box office on (0118) 973 5285 or visit Playhouse Cleaners in Dukes Ride, Bewitched fancy dress, also in Dukes Ride or Whimsical in the High Street.
