Twice the fun for fans of Russian ballet

IT’S double delight for local lovers of Russian ballet tonight and tomorrow.

St Petersburg Ballet Theatre is performing Swan Lake at The Hexagon, while the Siberian State Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker is staged at The Anvil in Basingstoke.

Alan Ayckbourn’s work also  makes a double appearance; his re-working of Sheridan’s A Trip To Scarborough will be performed at Guildford’s Yvonne Arnaud Theatre until Saturday, while his comedy Sugar Daddies continues its run at The Mill, Sonning.

Anthony Shaffer’s thriller Sleuth will run at Windsor Theatre Royal until Saturday and Stephen Sondheim’s musical Merrily We Roll Along continues at the Watermill, Newbury.

On Thursday, The King’s Singers perform at Reading Concert Hall and Barb Jungr sings Nina Simone at Newbury Corn Exchange.

Reading Youth Theatre’s production Prehistoric is staged at 21 South Street, Reading, tomorrow and Wednesday.
