Who’s the daddy?

ROBIN HERTFORD’S back at The Mill at Sonning directing his fourth Alan Ayckbourn play at the dinner theatre.

Sugar Daddies focuses on a country mouse who decides to join her city mouse sister in swinging London – where she has a close encounter with a master criminal.

Hertford has had a long association with Ayckbourn, joining his Scarborough-based company as an actor in the 1970s and he has been in more premiere productions of Ayckbourn’s plays than any other actor.

He has also directed more than a score of productions of his work, both in this country and abroad.

While at Scarborough, he commissioned The Woman In Black, which has been running in the West End for 18 years.

Since his last visit to Sonning he has directed a number of national tours, including Ayckbourn’s Bedroom Farce.

The cast of Sugar Daddies includes Michael Burrell, Natalie Burt, Rebecca Everett, Brian Miller and Alwyne Taylor.

Natalie and Rebecca, who lives locally, are both making their debuts at The Mill.

Burrell has acted in 45 countries as well as notching up hundreds of TV appearances.

Sugar Daddies opens on Wednesday (January 16), and runs until Saturday February 23. For tickets call (0118) 969 8000.
