THOUGHTFUL WIT

By Sally Bryant
26/ 4/2006

THE scenario of ‘empty nesters’ determined to enjoy every minute of their new-found freedom is packed with opportunities for laughter or tears.
With Alone Together Again, playwright Lawrence Roman took the funny route and penned a comedy.
On stage at The Mill at Sonning for its British premiere, the play is warm and raises many a chuckle. But it does also pose interesting questions of the ‘who and where am I now and where am I going’ variety, which take it out of the laugh-a-minute category and make it more one for those who like something a little more thought-provoking with their wit.
