Rain fails to dampen Winter Carnival spirits

Heavy rain did little to dampen festive spirit at yesterday's Wokingham Winter Carnival.
The annual charity event, which was raising funds for the NSPCC and Crossroads, had a cartoon and comic book heroes theme.
Schools, community groups, football teams and businesses got into the carnival spirit and came dressed as superheroes, snowmen, scary monsters and cartoon favourites.
Pupils and staff from Westende Junior School saw off stiff competition to win the Carnival’s Float Competition.
Reading Scottish Pipe Band, Morris dancers, stilt-walkers and unicyclists were just some of the highlights on the day.
