Hundreds flock to the Big Day Out
June 29, 2009
Hundreds of families enjoyed the Big Day Out in the blazing sunshine at the weekend.
Hordes of revellers flooded the grounds of South Hill Park on Saturday to enjoy the event, which ran from 1pm until 11pm.
All ages were catered for at the Birch Hill venue with live music, beer tents, bouncy castles and puppet making workshops.
Reading band Jewels & The Jacuzzis headlined the day out with their cool reggae vibes with a mix of dread and pop.
William Trevelyan, music officer and outside performance coordinator, said: “Every year, Big Day Out is building and building to the point where, without noticing, we’re five years old and it’s never had a year off.”
