Stardom beckons for talented Finchampstead teenager

A talented teen outshone 9,000 hopefuls to be crowned champion of a nationwide live music contest.
Finchampstead singer Siana Schofield could be set for stardom after winning the final of the Open Mic UK competition at The O2 in London on Saturday, January 19. The 16-year-old, from Nine Mile Ride, performed her own song in front of a capacity crowd at IndigO2 to win a recording and development deal.
She said: “It doesn’t feel like it’s really happened.
“I couldn’t believe it when they announced my name as I had tonsillitis during the few days leading up to the final.”
