Tamesis Chamber Choir presents Autumn Fruits

November 15, 2012

Tamesis chamber choir can be confident their audience will enjoy their autumn concert this Saturday – because they were invited to chose the programme.

To celebrate their 10th birthday the choir asked their fans to vote for their favourite pieces of music to be performed by the choir.

“Our loyal supporters have helped us grow into a nationally recognised choir over the past 10 years,” says musical director Louise Rapple.

“To show our appreciation, we gave them the chance to choose their favourite pieces, which we’ll be performing in the three concerts of this, our A La Carte season.”

The programme, which is called Autumn Fruits, includes a selection of anthems, songs, lullabies and folk songs, including traditional favourites like Linden Lea and Lay a Garden.

Contemporary works like Eric Whitacre’s Seal Lullaby and Sleep are also on the programme.

“Every vote counted, so if your most wanted didn’t make it into this concert, there’s still room for more in the next two concerts,” says Louise.

The choir will also be selling its CD, Remembrance, at the show this Saturday, which is in aid of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity.

Tamesis Chamber Choir presents Autumn Fruits on Saturday, November 17 at Greyfriars Church, Friar Street, Reading. The concert starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are £12 – call 0118 934 3200 or visit  www.tamesischamberchoir.co.uk
