Crowthorne rapper Flava becomes YouTube sensation

By Jon Nurse
October 18, 2012

Crowthorne rapper Flava has become an internet sensation with a song he hopes will inspire others to not give up on their dreams.

Flava aka Nic Hoskins has been posting his tracks on YouTube and getting a few hundred hits each time, but was stunned to find his latest song Star In The Making 2012 featuring friend Yazzy K has racked up more than 153,000 hits.

“I made the video with some photos looping over the music and within eight days of uploading it I saw it had more than 153,000 hits,” the 28-year-old said.

“Anyone, if you want to become a star in anything – don’t give up and carry on what you are doing.

“I’d like to do something now with my old school and keep pushing positive thinking.” Former Edgbarrow pupil Nic, of Church Road East, has prepared his mix tape that he will now pass on to record companies.

“Music has been a big passion of mine since I was young, so I started to MC and rap and I’ve done a few parties for families and friends,” he said.

“I want to get out there. It’s not about becoming rich or famous. I love what I do and feel great when I do it. Now I want to get other people involved.

“I’ll keep putting stuff on YouTube and I want people to say ‘Hey, I want to do that too’.”

That Children's play park, my Digitty friend, is none other than Crowthorne's Morgan Recreation Ground. Recently saved from the Grasp of Greedy Glossolilia Gobbed Gehena Groups.

"It’s not about becoming rich or famous." said the up and comming rapper wearing a t-shirt emblazened with 'star in the making'.

Has the Woky Times photographed him in a children's play park because he's down with the kids. Innit?
