Welfare Point to help revellers

21/ 8/2008

Counselling and shelter will be some of the things on offer from Reading Welfare Point over the weekend at Reading Festival.

The welfare and care of festival-goers will be top of the agenda for the RWP service with support from Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust, which has provided a much-needed donation to help with the running of the service over the weekend.

The BHFT will also be offering leaflets on mental healthcare to people at the festival to raise awareness of illnesses like psychosis and depression.

The Welfare Point is situated on road G4 by Piccadilly Circus at Reading Festival, the welfare service is open throughout the weekend’s events, 24 hours-a-day, from noon today, as festival-goers begin to pitch their tents, to noon on Monday when the festival shuts down.
