HOP TO IT AND ROCK FOR A CHANCE OF STARDOM
December 19, 2002
The annual band competition for 18-year-olds and over, kicks off before the distractions of Christmas and promises to be one of the best yet.
Open to all local bands and all styles, first prize for the lucky music monkeys is free recording time courtesy of event sponsors Running Frog Recording Studios.
The winner of each heat and the overall runner-up will go through to the final at the Magnet Leisure Centre in Maidenhead, on January 3.
Audiences have a real treat in store at the first heat tomorrow (Thursday), when Days of Worth, Model Twin, Sharkey and Chriskilledanna wage war.
Then on Friday, December 20, Jensen will be pitting the power of the guitar against The Undesided, Audax and Ventris.
And the final heat on Saturday, December 21, is bound to be a nail-biter when the mettle of superb hip-hop rockers Sons of the Tribe will be tested against Ellahi Groove, The Dionysus and Cartell.
Tickets are £6.50 (£5.50 members) and the battles kick off at 8pm.
