THE PERFECT PRESCRIPTION FOR THE BLUES

23/10/2002

The band formed in 1979, when ex-Manfred Mann frontman Paul Jones contacted his old band buddy Tom McGuinness with an idea of playing their favourite music — the blues.

They recruited ex-John Mayall drummer Hughie Flint and Blues Bottleneck guitarist Dave Kelly.

Within weeks, these masters of R&B were packing the pubs of London, soon filling up much larger venues.

Over the years, the group has stayed pretty much the same, with Gary Fletcher (bass) coming in and Rob Townsend (drums) replacing Hughie Flint.
