Bandstand Marathon to celebrate 2012

Bands, choirs and performers across Reading are being asked to make music to mark the end of the London 2012 Festival.
The Bandstand Marathon is an opportunity to be part of the finale celebrations for London 2012.
Performances will be held in bandstands and outdoor performance spaces across the UK at the same time, celebrating a summer of sport and culture on the final day of the Paralympic Games.
The Forbury Gardens hosts Reading’s Bandstand Marathon on Sunday, September 9 from 1pm to 5pm. Showcasing the best local talent and creating the greatest cultural legacy, Reading’s Bandstand Marathon needs everyone to get involved. Music of all types is welcomed.
