A BAND’S festival debut promises to be an upbeat, interactive experience at GuilFest this year.
Vocalist Kerrie Alexander, 23, who lives in Ashridge Way, Sunbury, established Vanity Draws Blood with childhood friend and drummer Frazer Welsh, 18, in late 2010. Since then, the pair have recruited friends to join them to make their metalcore sound.
“It is a subgenre of metal and has the melodic upbeat sound of hardcore. It is effectively two genres merged,” Kerrie said.
“We have got a good following of fans and always get a good response to our live shows. We like to put on a show for people and get the crowd moving.”
Kerrie said the band was looking forward to GuilFest: “We usually play at smaller venues but are looking forward to a festival atmosphere. We are a very energetic band and like our shows to be interactive with the audience – I will be in the crowd and on and off the stage. It makes it more entertaining for people to watch.”
Vanity Draws Blood is made up of lead guitarist Luke Jervis, bassist Charles Jones, Elliot Ball who plays rhythm guitar, Kerrie Alexander on vocals, drummer Frazer Welsh and vocalist Ryan Stevens.
