Battle of the Bands profile: When Memories Fade

By Hugh Fort
February 21, 2009

Heavy metal will take centre stage at the next heat of the Battle of The Bands 2009.

The second round of the popular show will be held at Wokingham Youth and Community Centre in Reading Road next Friday evening.

Seven acts playing heavy metal - Valour, Kraken, When Memories Fade, To The Fallen, One More Riot, We Are Catalysts and Above All Instinct, will battle it out for a place in the final.

The two winning acts will join Streetfight Silence and Clockwork, who made it through during the competition's first heat last month.

Every day until the show getwokingham will feature one a band's profile.

Today's band is When Memories Fade.

When Memories Fade are loud and fast and bring a double boy/girl singing combination, with singer Meg providing interesting melodic contrast to death metal style roars of fellow vocalist Clark.

They hail from Reading which they describe as the “new home of British metal.”

Their Myspace site contains snippets from reviews of the band’s concerts (including one over-excited reviewer saying they will “literally blow you away”, which surely isn’t the case).

The reviews are all very complimentary and the band should fit in to the heavier bill very nicely.

The next band to be profiled will be To The Fallen.
