Ipso Facto at Plug N Play, Reading - February 27th
February 11, 2009
Following on from the sold out launch night featuring Pete and The Pirates, Glasswerk.co.uk’s club night “Revelry” returns to Plug N Play on Friday February 27th.
Featuring the much talked about queens of ‘dark garage-pop’ Ipso Facto, “Revelry” is again set to offer the Reading music scene a visit from another nationally recognised up and coming band as they tour the UK.
Formed in 2007 Ipso Facto made there live debut as support to The Violets at Southend’s Circle Club in May 2007.
They’ve since toured the UK with the likes of Klaxons, Siouxsie Sioux, Yeasayer ,Black Kids , Friendly Fires and most recently as special guests of The Last Shadow Puppets on their UK and European Tour in October 2008.
Local Support comes from Sixty Watt Bayonets . The four to the floor garage punk band from Reading have been tipped for big things by Larry Little (Ex-The Killer’s manager), been played on the legendary American radio station K-ROQ, and made ‘Noise Makes Enemies’ list of ones to watch for 2009.
Sixty Watt Bayonets will be heading into the studio in early March to finish recording their debut 7 track EP to be released by Reading label ‘Broken Tail’ in June 2009.
You can currently listen to demo versions of ‘1933’ and ‘It’s Like’ on their MySpace.
Also on the bill are Golden Age (ex Hope of the states). Golden Age are a London based Quintet united through a love of chamber music, reverb, tones, drones and blistering guitars.
The brain child of Michael Eran Hibbert, Golden Age began in early 2007 when the dust had settled from the demise of his previous band, Hope of the States.
Raised on a strict diet of early Eno, Neu, the Velvets, New Order, Bad Seeds and Scot Walker expect heavy drama from the guitars, a rhythm section as tight as a hanged mans gullet and words that unfold and appear from the dark like landing lights...
Ginger Olly will be on the decks once again.
