Battle of the Bands 2009 - the photos

Young musicians played for their lives to win the chance to go though to the final of Wokingham’s Battle of the Bands.

Wokingham Youth and Community Centre in Reading Road was packed for the first round of the competition and Streetfight Silence and Clockwork were triumphant going into the final in April.

Six acts showing their talents at the event, which was organised by Penny Bradshaw, business and community development manager at Forest School in Robin Hood Lane and Pat Rowell, chairman of Winnersh Neighbourhood Action Group (NAG).

Streetfight Silence got to the final of last year’s event and were once again in fine form.

Bassist and vocalist Chris Penfold said: “We were more than happy.

“To get through was a bonus and a real confidence boost.

“We are now looking forward to the final.”
