Tuesday - Amour (12A) - Palmer Building
Georges and Anne are retired, cultivated Parisian musicians in their eighties. When Anne suffers a paralysing stroke the couple’s touching, substantial bond of love is severely tested.
This intensely moving examination of old age and life’s end has at its heart performances of incredible skill and wisdom by two of France’s most famous veteran actors and was the winner of this year’s Palme d’Or at Cannes.

Thursday - Great Expectations (12A) - Palmer Building
Dickens’ genius lay in his portrayal of 19th Century England. Despite the plethora of screen adaptations, award winning Director Mike Newell has succeeded in capturing the spirit and atmosphere of this well-known tale of unrequited love, misunderstood philanthropy and denial of roots.
The cream of British acting talent, young and old, is gathered here together to portray Dickens’ wonderful characters, in this the bicentennial year of his birth.

Ticket prices are £7.50 and £5.50 members and concessions. You can either buy them online via the website, www.readingfilmtheatre.co.uk or on the night, 45 minutes before the films start.
Ample free parking is available after 5.30pm in all the university car parks – please park only in a marked parking space.
Car Park 2 is the one furthest to the Palmer Building but the largest (walk past the ICMA Centre and Henley Business School following signs to the Palmer Building). Car Park 3 is on the left hand side after the entrance to Car Park 2 (from there, cross the road and walk along the footpath to the back of the palmer building).
Car Park 4 is behind the Student Union Building (walk down the right-hand side of the Union Building to the main quadrant and turn right to Palmer).
The nearest disable parking bays are located behind the nursery and Carrington Building or in Car Park 4 behind the Students Union Building.
