The Bracknell Film Society will be celebrating classic cinema with a screening of The Bad and the Beautiful tomorrow.
The society is showing the 1952 black and white movie as part of its Quarterly Classics season.
The Bad and the Beautiful follows an actress (Lana Turner), director (Barry Sullivan) and screen writer (Dick Powell) who are asked to revive the career of a ruthless Hollywood studio bigwig (Kirk Douglas).
Shining a spotlight on Hollywood of the 1950s, the film picked up four Academy Awards in its day.
The Bracknell Film Society shows a ‘classic’ film every three months. Next on the programme will be The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp on April 25.
Other films scheduled for 2013 include Elena, McCullin and No, with a filmed introduction by director Pablo Larrain.
