Tonight's TV Recommendation: The Aristocrats

By Hugh Fort
November 22, 2012

The Aristocrats, 9pm, Channel 4

This is a glimpse into the privileged lives of modern day rich folk, we get to meet a real life marquess who lives in none other than Blenheim Palace.

That's right, he lives in a palace, a place regularly visited by people because it's very spectacular.

The Marquess in question is the infamous Jamie Blandford.

He's an enormous stereotype of a posh boy turned bad.

He's had a serious drug habit, been in prison and even had a battle in court with his dad, the 11th Duke of Marlborough after he tried to disinherit him.

I bet Christmas is fun in their house, although in fairness they have made up.

500,000 people a year go to the palace, so the marquess is kept busy by the enormous upkeep of the place.

The programme looks at the effect of the miserable, wet summer and also features an appearance from the local MP, you may of heard of him, David Cameron, who probably looks down on the Marquess as being "a bit common".
