Tonight's TV Choice: The Inbetweeners Movie

By Hugh Fort
November 08, 2012

The Inbetweeners Movie, Channel 4, 9pm

The little screen premier of the big-screen debut of the lovably insecure teenagers whose desperate attempts to be cool spectacularly and hilariously backfire.

After finally finishing their miserable school lives where they're picked on by bigger boys and laughed at by girls going out with older boys, they decide to go on the token "lads holiday".

Out of their depth as soon as they land in the party island of Malia, they soon find themselves in a disgusting hotel ready to hit the town.

All manner of embarrassing mayhem ensures, particularly when they meet their female counterparts (their attempts to woo them with their dance moves are excruciating).

It's great, like an extended episode with plenty of laughs.

Also, it's very true to life.

I'd bet a lot of people out there have inadvertently booked themselves into a vile hotel, before having a row with their mates, ending up in a "fight" where neither wants to hurt the other and ultimately finding themselves in a completely empty bar having been conned by a bloke in the street.
