Local film-makers need your votes

A film-maker who started his career in Reading is asking for help get his latest producion shortlisted in a national competition.

Woodie Wright, 35, and his Caversham-based writing partner Jethro Jessop made their film Find love in 2:20 for the Virgin Media Shorts competition at the beginning of July.

The film is a love story based around on the theme of 2:20, which is also the running time.

Mr Wright said: "It's the story of two people who are looking for love. I want the people of Reading to vote as Reading is my home town. We do loads of filming in and around the area. In fact we are planning our next shoot in August at a location in Whitchurch Hill."

The public can help the romance reach the shortlist by sharing it on social media.

Judges will choose 12 of the entries for the shortlist but the 13th is decided by the public vote. The film which gets the most 'shares' from the website http://www.virginmediashorts.co.uk/film/3059/find-love-in-2-20 before 12pm on Thursday will nab the last spot.

It can also be shared on Twitter using the hashtag #ShortsLucky13 as well as the full name of the film which is 'Find love in 2:20'.

The winner film will be shown in 200 cinemas around the UK and the producers will get £30,000 wort of support from the British Film Institute.

Mr Wright hit the headlines last year with his Zombie movie Loki’s Gate which was filmed in Reading.
