Film of the Month: War Horse, Haywire, The Iron Lady or The Artist?
January 26, 2012
This month our intrepid film reviewer Kim Francis has been to see War Horse, Haywire, The Iron Lady and The Artist and we'd love to know what you thought of each film.
All we need you to do is rate each film out of five, or click 'Not seen' if you didn't see any of them.
Just to jog your memory, here are Kim's reviews:
Haywire: When undercover operative Mallory Kane (MMA star Gina Carano) is deployed to an operation overseas that goes awry, she finds she’s been set up.
War Horse: Steven Spielberg’s War Horse tells the story of a horse bought by a struggling farmer (Peter Mullan) for more than he can afford when he becomes transfixed by it at market and which he then has to sell on for the war effort to make ends meet.
The Iron Lady: The Iron Lady flicks between events in her past and Margaret Thatcher (Meryl Streep) in the present day where she is mostly confined to her home and spends her time interacting with a vision of her deceased husband Denis (charmingly brought to the screen by Jim Broadbent).
The Artist: Telling the story of fictional silent movie star George Valentin’s (Jean Dujardin) fall from the limelight just as the star of Peppy Miller (Bérénice Bejo) – the young actress he meets and falls for – is on the rise, it’s also a snapshot of the moment in film history when silent movies were phased out and Hollywood’s Golden Era of talkies was ushered in.
