Shouts of ‘No likey, no lighty’ will return to our living rooms this weekend when hit dating show Take Me Out returns – with two Reading recruits.

Dancer Fern Haynes and Danny Hibberd both auditioned for the new series of Take Me Out which starts tomorrow night.

Each week the show, hosted by matchmaker Paddy McGuinness, sees four men try to impress 30 women in the hope of finding a date.

If the women do not like what they see they turn off the light on their podium and if all 30 lights go out it’s a trip home alone for the boy. But for the lucky ones that do manage to get a date they are whisked off abroad for a romantic time in the sun where previously drinks at Fernandos has been replaced by a glamorous holiday to the ‘Isle of Fernandos’.

Former Prospect College pupil Miss Haynes, from Berkeley Avenue, Coley, said: “I wanted to go on there and give it a go. I’m single so why not?”

She continued: “I auditioned about three months ago in London. I thought I didn’t stand a chance but I got shortlisted to the last 100.

“They told me I hadn’t made it on to the show but on the first day of filming they called me and said they wanted me so I rushed to Kent and got on the show that night.”

Since filming the series Miss Haynes and Mr Hibberd, who had never met before, have become good friends and kept in contact.

Miss Haynes added: “I’m a dancer and it’s good publicity and hopefully something might come of it.”

The 20-year-old, who studied a National Diploma in Performing Arts at Henley College, has dreams of becoming a professional dancer.

“I would love to have my own dance school in Reading for children,” she admitted. “I want to move into street and hip hop dancing as a backing dancer.”
