He’s fit, he's handsome - Take him out!

By Laura Herbert
January 07, 2010

This is handsome Shinfield lad Ollie Smith who decided to try to find love under the bright lights of a TV studio on a new dating show.

The company director, who admits he is a hit with the ladies on a night out, turned to ITV’s Take Me Out for a helping hand.

The programme, which launched last Saturday, is presented by comedian Paddy McGuinness and sees men stepping up to be scrutinised by 30 single women in the studio. behind individual podiums each with their own light.

Four men, including Mr Smith who is in the spotlight this Saturday, take it in turn to share information about themselves but, if they fail to impress, the beauties that don’t want to date him turn the light on their podium off until just one lucky lady is left.

The 22-year-old, who drives a Porsche 911, said: “It’s just a bit of fun really, I thought it would be a bit of a carry on. It was a really good laugh and I managed to meet Paddy McGuinness.”

Mr Smith, who aims to be a self-made millionaire by the time he is 30, is also a keen musician – he plays the piano and saxophone.

He said he likes to look good “all the time” and usually wears designer labels including Vivienne Westwood, Paul Smith and Hugo Boss.

And presenting himself to a room full of strangers each judging him on his looks and personality didn’t faze him either.

“They judge you on whether they like you or not but I’m used to it with my Butler In The Buff job so it was fine,” he said.

Mr Smith has been a Butler In The Buff – hunky men who do all your running around in next to nothing – for the past six months and said: “It’s the best ego boost.”

Of the type of women he likes, he said: “I usually go for strikingly beautiful girls with a perfect body who are slim but not too toned, funny and can take a joke and are easygoing.”

He added he “hates girls with trainers on and ‘geezer’ birds with pints” as he prefers “glamorous girls with nice nails”.

But it seems the show has worked for him and his exacting standards as he did meet a girl and they are still dating. To find out who it was tune in this Saturday on ITV1 at 7.15pm.

He may well be from Sheffield (originally) but he plays for Reading Rugby Club (The Green Machine) as was shown in his clip... I hope the boys give him some stick for that... Silly boy!!

You're a loser Mike. It is funny and has got lots of comments so of course it is newsworty. If you think you can do better why don't you start your own rag, see how you do. As for Ollie, well he's single Mike so why don't you give him a bell...

Maybe the headline should read: 'Take him out and shoot him?'

Oops - about 190 miles and 2 letters out! Either that or I am going deaf. Having just watched the show it would appear this prat in pink actually comes from SHEFFIELD and not Shinfield. Lucky Shinfield.

Is this story seriously newsworthy? Looks like yet another filler by an increasingly desperate snoozepaper....

That'll explain why he's looking out of town then.

I wouldn't normally give a bother to a story like this, but after reading about this w****r, especially with his current line of work, and the fact he obviously had to point out he owns a Porsche, he comes off as being a total prat. He sounds completely shallow, which is why I'm not, at all, surprised he's looking for "love" on a bloody TV game show. Lastly, the ONLY kind of attention he's going to get, especially in that ghastly shirt he's wearing in the photo, is the kind he's probably not looking for. Then again, maybe he is.

He drives Porsche 911, so someone who thinks he is cool. Comeback when you have a Ferrari.

If he is such a hit with the girls why is he on a dating show - my guess is they all see through him for what he really is, and probably very insecure!!!!
