Home is where Danyl Johnson’s heart is

Five-a-side football and a reunion with his family were the first things X Factor’s Danyl Johnson did when he came home on Monday.

The 27-year-old was voted out of the competition on Sunday and returned to Arborfield the next day for a kickabout with friends at The University of Reading.

He then headed to Emmer Green to see his sister Janine and nephew Malaki, aged two.

Danyl was whisked off for chat show interviews soon after coming fourth in the ITV show but since then he’s had chance to relax.

He said: “It’s actually been quite chilled which is really nice. People have been recognising me when I’m out which is a bit odd but if I get to do what I want to do then I don’t think life will ever go back to normal really.”

Speaking of his plans for the future, he said: “I have been so overwhelmed by the support of people in Reading that as soon as I have the time I will be doing a free gig at the pentahotel.

“The support they have given me has just been amazing.

“I want to say thank you to everyone who has spent a lot of money voting for me and hopefully I’ll be there before Christmas.

“I feel a bit guilty that I didn’t make it to the final when I heard some of the kids from Starmaker cried when I was voted out.

“But I am just glad to have made it as far as I did and I am going to wait and see what happens in the future.

“I love London and I love America but I also feel happy and secure at home in Arborfield so I am not making any decisions yet.”

He added: “When I am around my friends I can just be normal – they don’t treat me any differently and I can just relax with them.

“I have always felt welcome in The Swan pub in Arborfield too so maybe I’ll do a little gig there, but probably just for friends.”

And Danyl is looking forward to the Saturday final, as he’s backing his over-25s buddy Olly Murs.

The fact that the same names are posting comments on this site every day, 7 days a week about each and every article that gets posted suggests to me that you're all bored out of your tiny little skulls with life anyway, so the EP addressing the content of their stories will change nothing. You'll still bleat on about something or other.

Detective John Kimble - No, "love"...In fact I`m 29, which means I have a lot more experience then you, who maybe are 15 and 1/2. And I send you to gym to get rid of your frustration....Kick some devices in there and release the envy...In plus, working out is good for your career...this way you`ll have a nice body to compensate the fact that you don`t have a voice like Danyl`s. By "love" :). Sorry for not have time to go to Danyl`s show on Thursday, I wish to see all the "courageus" full of frustration getting yellow from the envy. Maybe this way I`ll get to know you...Get it, love? I`d look for a yellow detective :)

You think you know me, its hilarious, i take good and bad comments all the time, plus there are many many fan made videos on myspace and youtube for the band so before you start praising this nobody, maybe you should get your facts straight and dont accuse people you dont know. Plus i do go to the gym love, maybe its you who is frustrated, i mean your the one worshipping a famous "young man" on a reality TV show, what are you 12, cos it seems like it!

Maybe you should let Danyl alone and stop with all this stupidity. In the near future it is simple: if U don`t like him, don`t buy his CDs, turn to another channel when he is interviewed and if U don`t like his videos, push the remote to another music channel. He will be fine without his frustrated haters... With or without all the nasty comments (by the way, no other contestant was ever so commented, which is good...that means you can forget him) Danyl is amazingly talented and I hope to keep up the good work. And soon to be able to buy his CD`s. And everyone (including the ones from the same city with him) should be glad and proud for his talent and succes.

As for you, poor dear Dan - The Frustrated - Man, I`m sure you`ll be happy to know that I get something with my life... let`s say that the years spent between books and laws were not for nothing... :) So, I will not spend more time as regards you, cause it seems to me that it will be a waste and not only of money...So, as Lillimarie told you, back to your crystal ball (check if it`s not broken) and go and "sing" to another table...

Detective John Kimble - Dear, you are not frustrated, but very frustrated, believe me...Your comments represents the proof in this sense. For your information, Danyl writes songs, in fact there are a few on youtube and on his website and which fans made it for him (and they did not for you). I bet you don`t have a half of Danyls courage (not speaking about his talent), to take the good and the bad comments in front of an entire country. I wish you well, so maybe with some luck , somebody will give you a chance, with your band. Maybe afterwards you will not be so frustrated. And go to the gym, maybe you`ll feel better... :)

Oh poor Dan the Man, what an illusion you create for yourself.

Well, I guess it's back to the crystal ball for you!

thanks, clare. as for the person that wanted him to visit the school even though he was out, imagine the grief he'd get from this lot. 'oh he lost but he still thinks he's a star' etc. he can't win whatever he does.

Lillimarie pretty funny that u come on here and give it the large over some runt u don't know. Yet the funny thing is you can't read obviously coz i didn't post "little girls who are losers".

Which i think u make a good point of how your sat in your house on a saturday night (every weekend)using up your phonebill on someone who's failed you :D

Look, he lost so get over it! He did well to get as far as he did - if you actually rate these reality karaoke competitions.. but they are not actually music are they? They are just a few hopefuls murdering famous songs in front of millions.. All he has succeeded in doing is getting his 15 mins of fame and lining Simon Cowells pockets in the process. All you people that have spent hours voting have just put money towards Simons next Bentley convertable. Don't you get that? Even if Danyl DID win, nobody would remember him by the spring. I think what some people on here fail to grasp is that is not Danyl that we dislike so much, it's having to hear about it every time he picks his nose that we hate so much. It's over - get over it!

   Dan the (not so clever)man.

How your assumptions deceive you... 'little girls who are losers'?

Consult your crystal ball again and this time try putting the light on.

Why on earth would we want to enter X-Factor? u know some of us have already got somewhere in our lives unlike this loser and yourselve's Gabriela C and LilliMarie. Quite frankly i'm getting bored of this rubbish, the fool's out, so its plain to see not everyone has the same opinion as you little girls.

Totally agree with Spanky to be honest and if he has SUCH A GOOD VOICE why hasn't he made it already then? Oh and lets not forget Simon Cowell knew this guy before he even went on X-Factor and he still failed.

Here's your seat _/

Hooray for Danyl, love him voted every week for him and will continue to follow him in what I'm sure will be a successful career. The very fact he had a dream and ran with it, means his family, friends and indeed Danyl his self should and are very proud. Respect should always be given to those people who strive for more than the mundane 9-5 ORDINARY jobs. For all those people who love to dish out the negativity and sometimes dam right rude comments on here I can't wait to see you on TV next year or to hear that you've done something amazing. Merry Christmas and a joyful new year to all xxxxx
