X Factor Danyl Johnson survives another week

By Natalie Slater
November 02, 2009

X Factor's Danyl Johnson has survived another week despite getting negative comments from the judges on Saturday night.

The Arborfield lad performed a more toned down version of Aerosmith’s I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing but was told he looked like he had lost his spark.

Speaking after the performance his mentor Simon Cowell, said: “When he comes out confident he is cocky but when he tones it down he isn’t confident. What is he to do?

“I genuinely, genuinely hope the public vote for you this week because you deserve it.”

It was a nail-biting results show last night but Danyl made it through without having to sing for survival.

After his performance Danyl broke down in tears backstage. He complained: "I couldn't hear the music in the beginning. They changed the key and I was just lost between the two keys and I didn't know where to go. I'm really upset."

Speaking to Holly Willoughby later on The Xtra Factor Danyl thanked people in Reading for getting him through. He said: "I think it was because Reading got behind me."

Rachel Adedeji was voted off after falling into the bottom two for the third time.

Why is it that everytime so unknown wannabe takes part in some obnoxious tv prog we have to have a full recap of his every move???

Can you simply say "he hasn't got knocked out yet" and be done with it.

Danyl has taught my son and daughter at Mo's Stage School every Saturday for the last 18 months and he is a genuine bloke who wants to help others. He is a good teacher and thanks to Danyl their dancing and stage presentation has consistantly improved. For Cheryl and Dannii to say that he is cocky and arrogant is quite frankly unbelievable as they should know that owning the stage is what a performance is all about. As for Louis' acquisation of Danyl being 'vile' it just shows how shallow and scared the man is. Danyl is talented and should be judged on his ability not based what some hack from a sleasy paper says. But at the end of the day it is a public vote and if we want to we should all vote on talent and not on hearsay or where we live. On that note Danyl deserves to progress further as should Joe, Stacey, Olly and Lucie. However I do hope that Danyl gets to the final and gives it his best.

I don't think us "whingers" are in the minority. You only have to look at the polls held on here about him and previous comments to stories about him where as time has gone on people have been less and less impressed with him in this competition.

He might have done a good first audition but he has been going fast downhill ever since. I don't see why just because we are from Reading we automaticly ahve to like him and vote for him every week. It's about who has the most talent...remember?

Totally agree. Dan has had to endure a very very personal hate campaign while the main gripe about the twins has been about their singing.....it has never been personal.I know Dan and I can honestly say that he is NOT a bully, and he is NOT cocky. He performs on stage which perhaps some people see as cockiness. It is not cockiness it is confidence. Last Saturday, he had clearly lost that confidence and quite honestly I am not surprised after what he has had written about him. The person who described Dan as being more hated than Hitler is the bully! I hope Dan wins not only because he is the most talented contestant there, but if he can hold it all together and still come out fighting week on week despite the press (and these sorts of forums), then he deserves to win. Keep going Dan...all the way, we're all behind you! Clare & Rachel

Yet again the conatant whingers of Reading are at it again! Thank god they are a minority and Reading is supporting Danyl. So you think he was acting, what evidence you have other than your own biased view! Also to try and compare what the twins have had versus what Danyl has gone through just shows a total lack of understanding of what has been happening. All the twins have had to put up with is people saying they cannot sing (which is correct). Danyl has been compared to Hitler, accused of being a bully (which the victims of thst have denied it!) and been told he is the most hatred person around. Some comparison! Come on, give us all a break - don't watch the program and don't bother to make your nasty comments here.

The guy was was awful - I can't believe how out of tune he was! He should have been booted out for murdering that song. How is he still in the competition? Get him out!

It's clear that he's now trying to go for the sympathy vote with his sad faces he was pulling on saturday night. If the singing career doesnt take off he could always be an actor!

The only Journey that should be allowed is Don't Stop Believing but i wouldn't want yet another song ruined by those idiots who'll get a Christmas No. 1 and then we'll never hear of again.
