Danyl Johnson shines in X Factor live debut

Danyl Johnson’s survived the first live X-Factor show but his performance sparked a row among the judges.
Danyl, 27, wowed the crowds with a pitch perfect version of Whitney Houston’s I am Telling You.
But there were serious tensions between Simon Cowell and Dannii Minogue afterwards.
A jibe Dannii made about the Starmaker teacher’s sexuality caused Danyl’s mentor Simon to respond angrily.
Meanwhile Danyl stood on the stage looking close to tears.
After he performed Dannii said: “It was a fantastic performance, a true X-Factor performance – turning guys into girls.”
The Aussie beauty then added: “No need to change the gender references, if we’re to believe everything we read in the press.”
This elicited an angry response from Simon who fumed: “I think we’re missing something here. I just heard one of the best performances I ever heard in my life.
“And you can forget playing any of those games with him. I’m not having that. This guy sang his heart out. Give him some credit.”
Later Dannii responded to claims she had behaved badly on Twitter, saying her comments had been misinterpreted and she was not homophobic.
Cheryl Cole was forced to eat her words. After learning of Simon’s song choice for Danyl she said: “He’s chosen a woman’s song. I think it is ridiculous.”
But after he impressed everyone – dressed simply with no distracting background – the big-haired beauty admitted it was the right song choice.
“I could feel the atmosphere in the room when you sang that song,” she told Danyl, urging him to be aware of the difference between “confidence and cockiness”.
The public did not feel Danyl deserved to go because he was saved from the chop.
Kandy Rain received the lowest number of votes from the public and their dream of stardom was over.

x factor like big brother has been on tv for far longer than it needs to be. TV executives are being plain lazy and they should be investing in new TV drama, light entertainment, comedy and documentaries not continously putting rubbish like x factor and that strictly dancing cobblers on for long drawn out series.
