Jenny Parkes' hosts last solo exhibition at ReOrsaBy Jennie Slevin
March 20, 2013
In the last solo show before the gallery’s final exhibition, ReOrsa artist Jenny Parkes is exhibiting her work.
‘Recollections’, Jenny’s exploration of the connections between discarded, rusted and found objects, is inspired by the Broadway gallery’s imminent departure from Gallery@49.
The artists are beginning to pack their bags before the town centre regeneration starts and their home is demolished.
Jenny said: “It’s partly because of the closure that I’ve done this exhibition.
“I’ve been collecting bits of rusty metal for years, things other people wouldn’t look twice at and I wanted to do something with them.
“It’s much larger than anything I’ve done before and I sort of saw it as a one off, it may be my last chance to do anything like this.”
Jenny’s exhibition will be open from midday to 4pm on Saturday and Saturday, March 23 and 24 ahead of the ReOrsa Founders’ Finale in April.
