A TRIO of intriguing art exhibitions will be launching at South Hill Park next week.
The new gallery season has arrived at the Bracknell arts centre and three new collections will open on Saturday, December 1.
Aftermath by painter Nancy Cogswell, which will be on display in the Atrium, explores themes of deception and loss through metaphors like tables and drawers.
Brought up during the Cold War Nancy is interested in the processes of imagery and her work combines painting with hard-edged drawing to create a dramatic effect.
Another exhibition, which will be hanging in the mirror and community galleries, is Arts and Minds 3, created by patients of Broadmoor Hospital in Crowthorne.
The works are created as part of a rehabilitation and outlet programme in the trust’s adult education centre, occupational therapy units and wards. There will also be a free talk about the benefits of art to mental health on Thursday, January 17.
The third exhibition to open will be In The Eye Of the Beholder by Print @ The Park, which will hang in the print gallery.
Local artists will showcase a variety of printmaking methods from traditional lino cutting and etching to new techniques in lithography and solar imagery.
All the exhibitions are free. There will be an opening reception on Friday from 6.30pm to 8pm and all are welcome. For more details contact the box office or visit www.southhillpark.org.uk.
