Don't forget Elephant Hotel's Beer Stampede
September 21, 2012
Beer fans will be able to have an ale of a time at a Pangbourne hotel this weekend.
The Elephant Hotel is holding its fourth annual Beer Stampede on Saturday and Sunday and this promises to be the biggest yet.
Real ale fans will be able to choose from a selection of 20 brews including Golden Apostle from Wessex Brewery and Old Boy from West Berkshire Brewery as well as a selection of ciders.
There will also be live music, including the Pangbourne Brass Band, Dolly and the Clothes Pegs and the Original Rabbit Foot Spasm Band – who have appeared at Glastonbury and on BBC Radio 2.
On the Saturday attractions will include a hog roast and barbecue, a penalty shoot out with the Basildon Barbarians and even a set of stocks.
The following day will feature stalls selling local produce, lamb roasting outside and children’s entertainment.
Spokeswoman Claire Waters promised: “This year will be the biggest ever. We struggled a bit because of the weather last year but there’s already a bit of a flurry of attention around this year’s Stampede – it’s coming together very well.”
The event runs at the Church Road hotel from midday to 10pm on Saturday and midday to 6pm on Sunday.
