Team GB's athletes brought home their first two medals yesterday after successes in the pool and on the bike.
Cyclist Lizzie Armitstead narrowly missed on gold in the gruelling women's road race, just failing to catch the Netherlands' Marianne Vos after a desperate sprint finish.
2008 Gold Medallist Rebecca Adlington took home bronze after a determined swim in the women's 400m freestyle swimming event.
In other events, Team GB's footballers need a draw against Uruguay to qualify for the next round after a 3-1 win against the United Arab Emirates at Wembley and gymnast Beth Tweddle topped the qualifying rounds after a dazzling display on the uneven bars.
Today's events include canoe slalom, badminton, Team GB's Tom Daley in the synchronised diving and fencing.
There was also sad news as marathon hopeful Paula Radcliffe pulled out of the race because of a long-standing foot injury.
Bracknell and Wokingham Swimming Club member Andrew Willis swims in the men's 200m breaststroke tomorrow at 10.40am and Ascot synchronised swimmers Jenna and Asha Randall will compete on Monday, August 6.
