Join hunt for mini-beasts on Thursday
June 02, 2010
Youngsters who go down to the woods at a Hurst country park for a mini-beast hunt tomorrow are sure to be in for a surprise or two.
At 11am and 2pm the countryside rangers at Dinton Pastures Country Park in Davis Street are inviting children to come along an explore the wonders of the undergrowth.
Those who attend the event can sweep, seek and peek at the bugs and slugs making home at the meadow in the country park.
Matt Wallis, education and events ranger, said: “Whether you’re a budding Sir David Attenborough or just like creepy crawlies why not come along to the mini-beast hunt at Dinton Pastures on Thursday, June 3.
“We’ll be exploring how the insects have become the most successful creatures on the planet, how they have adapted and where to find them.”
Admission per child, who must be accompanied by an adult, is £3.
To book a place or for further information call (0118) 934 2016 or email countryside@wokingham.gov.uk.
