Mission Accomplished: DJ Judge Jules @ Bar Mango

By Miss L'Amour
June 23, 2010

After the huge success of Judge Jules playing at Mango last year, it’s no surprise that he was invited back.

He joined the party animals at Raw Filth last Friday for a night that was not for the faint-hearted.

The night was just hotting up as we arrived for some dancefloor fun. As the theme was an X-rated one we made sure we left our halos firmly at home.

When we arrived, we were greeted with a re-creation of an Ibiza style garden party and a free welcome drink that sure got us in the mood for partying.

Mingling among Reading’s good party people we enjoyed seeing the many guys and gals who had dressed for the occasion with lots of frilly knickers and uplifting bras on show.

The lads had gone for chest rugs and moustaches, maybe that’s getting a little carried away?

We had a little warm-up for the main man, as the night’s DJs spun some uplifting vocal house and feel- good vibes. On the decks were Andy Trafford, Filthy Funk Funk, Dirty Cowboys, Shane Davies and Paul Sounds, all playing back-to-back.

Then came on the headline act, the international superstar DJ and Radio One Legend Judge Jules. He’s well-known for his passion, amazing tunes and having a set of hands capable of the most nimble of mixing. He is the epitome of what DJing is all about.

Jules has certainly earned his place among the DJ aristocracy. He’s rarely out of DJ Mag’s top 15 in the annual Top 100 DJs poll and has won accolades including Muzik Awards’ Best DJ, Dancestar’s Best International DJ and Best Radio DJ at the Smirnoff Dancestars awards.

Bar Mango’s awesome new visuals, strobe lights and some seriously colourful projections certainly added to the night and the  DJ decks, now placed back on the dance floor, gave us the chance to get up close and personal.

The night met our expectations – we hope he is invited back soon.

I heard the event was not as good as the first one.
