Mission Accomplished: Mannakoo, Station HillBy Miss L'Amour
May 19, 2010
The Angels groomed their wings and polished our halos ready for a well-deserved night out on the town with Miss L’Amour. Tonight, it was all happening at Mannakoo – the lounge bar opposite Reading train station.
It’s one of our favourite haunts, we love the warm welcome from the friendly doormen and the club’s warm atmosphere.
We mingled as we worked our way to the bar and it wasn’t long before we were being warmed up with a nice brandy and coke.
We weren’t quite ready for their speciality cocktail – the Mannakoo Mash Up – but I was told by some lovely angels at the bar it’s cocktail heaven.
Every Saturday night is Black & Gold night from 8pm all the way through to 4am. The night was still young as we mingled and partied, winding those hips to resident DJs Chocolate City and DJ Timi. They took us on a musical journey playing the best in R‘n’B, old skool hip hop and sexy cool sounds – we think it doesn’t get any cooler than black and gold.
Mannakoo’s manager says that Thursday is its mixed funky Latin groove and soulful house night. It features the sounds of Rivera Maya from 8pm through to 2am.
On Fridays, Sweet Touch sees the best in smooth grooves and old skool mix played by DJs Pete Precise and Mk1.
By the end of the night we had lost our halos somewhere on the dancefloor, but it was all worth it ... we can’t wait to go back.
The bar is looking to build on its success by opening a new VIP lounge upstairs, complete with its own bar.
