Children learn about the Chinese Year of the Snake at Binfield Library
By Jennie SlevinFebruary 18, 2013
Snakes ruled over storytime on National Libraries Day as children at Binfield Library celebrated the Chinese New Year.
The library, in Benetfeld Road, invited curious explorers to learn about the Chinese Year of the Snake by taking part in an arts and crafts activity day on Saturday.
The children created their own snake sock puppets, mobiles and Chinese fans before taking part in a word search, colouring and playing snakes and ladders.
Other libraries across the borough also took part in National Library Day celebrations, including the newly-refurbished Bracknell Central Library in Town Square, which taught children songs and nursery rhymes, and Ascot Heath Library, Fernbank Road, which hosted a coffee morning.
