Children have a bonza time at Australia day
By Jennie SlevinFebruary 06, 2013
Children made their own boomerangs in celebration of Australia Day at Crowthorne Library.
Youngsters learnt about Aboriginal culture and animals from Down Under through story and song at the arts and crafts day on Wednesday, January 23.
The young explorers used what they had learnt to decorate boomerangs and play didgeridoos which they made from kitchen roll tubes.
Sharon Pickles, who works at the library and teaches the arts and crafts sessions, said: “They really loved the day.
“They all interpreted the art in their own ways and each had completely different designs at the end.”
