January 23, 2013
Entries are open for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) London to Reading Bike Ride.
The fundraiser, supported by the Bracknell Forest Standard, is back for a second year, following a sell-out event in 2012.
Sign-up rates suggest more than 1,000 cyclists will take part in the event, organised in collaboration with Reading Borough Council.
The bike ride will start at Kempton Racecourse, near Hampton Court, and follow a 40-mile route, finishing at Christchurch Meadows in Reading on Sunday, March 24.
BHF event organiser Rob Cox said: “People of all abilities and with all types of bikes travelled from all over the country to be involved, which gave the day a fantastic atmosphere. Several local companies entered teams and offered support, and we’re eager to hear from anyone else wanting to get involved in 2013.”
Entry is £15 for adults and £7.50 for children, which only covers the cost of running the event. The charity aims to raise more than £40,000 through sponsorship.
