The Look Out Discovery Centre was named one of the best days out in the country for the second year running.

The hands-on science centre in Nine Mile Ride was named in Visit England’s Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Scheme (VAQAS), which guarantees a great day out.

An assessor from the scheme said exhibits and activities throughout the Look Out were excellent and said the staff were always very welcoming and friendly

Councillor Iain McCracken, executive member for culture, said: “I am very proud that staff from The Look Out, led by the manager, Jacky Henderson, work so hard to gain awards throughout the year.

“The team are outstanding.”
