Jennett's Park WI craft session raises £250

By Jonathan Low
October 23, 2012

More than £250 was raised by Peacock Farm WI from a craft session at Jennett’s Park Community Centre.

Various exhibitors sold handmade products, while there were a number of demonstrations, including vegetable and fruit carvings and stained glass techniques.

Clare Agate and Sharon Cook, who are both on the WI committee, organised the event.

Clare said: “The stallholders were so pleased with how it went, and it was a real family event.

“We also had a face painter and children got to decorate their own cupcakes.”

Peacock Farm WI is also looking for new members.

The women meet on the second Friday of each month at 8pm at Jennett’s Park Community Centre.

There will be the chance to make Christmas crafts at the group’s November 9 meeting and there will be wine tasting at the December meeting on the first Friday, December 7.
