A group which provides support for young carers was given more than £500 of electronic equipment by Easthampstead Rotary Club.

Young Carers Bracknell, which has 50 members, works with children aged between five and 18 who care for a sick or disabled family member.

President of Easthampstead Rotary Club Suzie McRory donated an Microsoft X-box and Nintendo Wii equipment to Karen Brzonkalik, service manager for ‘Kids’, which put on activities for the youngsters, and Gareth Mepham, youth manager at The Wayz in Bracknell, which provide the space for the young carers to meet on Wednesday evenings.

The games and equipment will be used by the young carers throughout their projects and at club evenings at The Wayz.
