More than 400 people attend Crowthorne Community Fun Day

More than 400 people attended the Crowthorne community fun day at Morgan Recreation Ground in Wellington Road.

It was the fifth and final fun day of the summer, and allowed residents to try out everything from playing different sports to sampling pizza from the local pizzeria.

The event was organised by the HopeZone team, which is led by Churches Together in Crowthorne, along with Thames Valley Police, the Police Community Support Officers for the area and Crowthorne Parish Council.

Chairman of Crowthorne Neighbourhood Action Group Mike Withers said: “It saw the community working together for young and old.

“It’s now in its fifth year and we had the biggest amount of people attend this time. Congratulations to those who helped to organise the event.”

Didn't Dr Lee deem this event worthy of his attendance?

Hmm. Conflict of interest, I can see that. And I had such plans.

I saw us recreating the role of Lord Summer Isle - sacrificing a few goats and hoodies in Lidl car park, burning a 30ft wicker effigy of a minor Archbishop outside Broadmoor, and generally get all Scandinavian on their posteriors.

Tim - I feel you, man, I feel you.

How about next year we engage with this event under the auspices of Satanists For Jesus?

Oh Good Grief ...400 people is a typical Church embelishment. I was there with my Children amongst a 'crowd' of 80...still a good turn out though in my opinion. By the way this was organised , as it has been since 2008, by Thames Valley Police NOT the Churches Together in Crowthorne. Why do they have to lay claim to everything the local community does??
