WI's Pimms party raises funds for Frimley Park Hospital

With Pimm’s to start and strawberries and cream to finish, members of Sandhurst Women’s Institute held a charity tea party to support Frimley Park Hospital’s Heart 2 Heart Appeal.

It was held at Owlsmoor Community Hall in Yeovil Road and nearly all of the group’s members attended, many with their husbands, along with members of the public.

The party on Wednesday, June 6 raised £140 for the hospital’s appeal, that helps to save the lives of heart attack victims.

Liz King, president of the WI group said: “As a result of the rain, we had to move the location from one of our member’s house, who had prepared her garden beautifully for the tea party, to the community hall instead.

“We started with Pimm’s, then sandwiches and cakes and then strawberries and cream, it was very British.

“We normally have a lunch or tea in the summer for our charity.

“It was an enjoyable time and for a chance to our members to indulge and have a natter.”
