Q&A: Daniel Rose of Silwood Park Karate ClubBy Becky Barnes
June 25, 2012
Daniel Rose, 33, is a karate instructor and founder of Silwood Park Karate Club, Bracknell
What is your favourite food? Fajitas – Thursday is our family dinner where my two-year-old daughter helps to cook and we get to sit down as a family.
What is your favourite holiday destination? My wife and I would love to visit Everest base camp – we tried a few years ago but the weather was too bad. We decided that our Karate charity event this year would be a stair climb to the height of Everest.
What was the last book you read? The Ultimate Warrior Workout – I got some great ideas for my lesson plans.
What is your favourite TV programme? I rarely have time to watch TV. Meg and Mog are favourites in my house just now.
What is your favourite film? It's got to be Karate Kid – the reason why I started karate 27 years ago.
What makes you smile? I recently took my kids to Chessington – my eldest wanted her cheese sandwich at 10am so to hold her off I told her the tiger had eaten it. Now every time she sees one she says ‘Naughty tiger ate my cheese sandwich’.
Who would your ideal dinner guests be? I’d like to have a quiet dinner with my wife – no kids (lovely as they are), no dogs and no emails/phone calls.
What is your biggest regret? The BBC sold out its Formula 1 coverage this year.
What hobbies do you have? I love to go jogging with my dogs.
What do you like about Bracknell Forest? Swinley Forest and being able to take my kids to the Lookout.
What is the one thing you would change about Bracknell Forest? The town centre. I’d love to be proud of a buzzing and vibrant town centre.
