Plant sale raises cash for Sebastian's Action Trust

May 07, 2009

Green-fingered neighbours managed to raise hundreds of pounds for a local charity during a plant sale.

The third annual plant sale in Woolside, Winkfield, was organised by Jonathan Greenyer  to raise cash for Sunninghill charity Sebastian's Action Trust.

Most of the plants on sale on Saturday were donated by garden centre Hilliers, which has a branch in Sunningdale, with the rest made up of gifts from friends and neighbours.

Dad-of-three Jonathanm 56, said: "It went extremely well.

"We had a steady stream of people and managed to raise nearly £600 - much more than last year.

"It was very much a community event."

Jane and Michael Gates, founders of Sebastian's Action Trust, named after their son who died from cancer in 2003, even came to the sale.
