Housing advice for social tenants

December 09, 2008

Housing association tenants looking for advice on how to make the most of their money over Christmas can go along to a session being run by Bracknell Forest Homes and the Citizen’s Advice Bureau.

The organisations are running two sessions giving practical tips about budgeting over the festive period.

The CAB will also be giving out free calculators and piggy banks to visitors.

The sessions are on this Thursday from 9.30am to 11am and on Thursday January 15 from 9.30am to 11am, both at Great Hollands Community Centre in The Square, Great Hollands.

Linda Wells, housing and community services director at Bracknell Forest Homes, which owns and manages Bracknell’s 5,600 ex-local authority homes, said: “We are very pleased to be working with the CAB to offer assistance and information that we hope will help people who are experiencing financial pressures during this difficult economic climate.

“Christmas is sometimes a stressful time financially, especially for families and we hope that some of our customers will take up the offer of these free sessions and find them useful.”

People requiring transport to the sessions or help with childcare costs can call Emma Martin on (01344) 382912.
