Flora and foliage awarded as Your Gardens blossom

Home-grown talent was celebrated at an awards ceremony dedicated to people with the greenest fingers in the borough.
Tension was high as people packed out the Grange Hotel to find out who would be declared a winner of Your Gardens 2008 on Monday evening.
And rounds of applause erupted as names were called out to honour those who have helped make the borough a prettier place to live.
Helen Barnett, marketing manager for Bracknell Regeneration Partnership, said: “It was fantastic to see such a great turnout for the awards ceremony and a great night was had by all.
“It was a tough decision for the judges, with so many wonderful entries.
“A huge thank you must go out to all our sponsors, the landscaping team, schools, individuals and community groups who entered the Your Gardens 2008 competition.
“Entering Britain in Bloom is a real team effort and Your Gardens is a real contributor.
“Bracknell achieving the Silver Gilt award in the Royal Horticultural Society competition is testament to everyone’s hard work and commitment to making the borough look so fabulous.”
