Business Post sponsor Rickerbys has announced a merger with law firm Harrison Clark LLP – and is looking to boost its Thames Valley operation.

The merged firm, due to launch at the end of March, will be known as Harrison Clark Rickerbys and its Thames Valley office, set up last April, will continue and grow from offices at Green Park.

It will have a combined staff of 350 and plans to grow further. Harrison Clark Rickerbys also has offices in Cheltenham, Worcester, London, Hereford, Ross-on-Wye and Birmingham.

Anne Compton, managing partner of Rickerbys, said: “By joining forces we will create a firm that will offer an even greater depth of experience and variety of expertise to our clients.

“The plan is to continue to grow the practice and we should, in the short term, easily reach the target of becoming a Top 100 law firm in the UK.”

Rod Thomas, managing partner at Harrison Clark, said: “We have known and respected Rickerbys for many years.

“Both firms have strong commercial and private client practices and we intend to build upon and grow all our specialist areas making this a prestigious firm which will be able to attract and retain the best and brightest staff at all levels.

“We will be providing further investment and resource for the Thames Valley office which has produced excellent results in its first 10 months.”
