Get your tax return in on time or face a fine

A threat of a £100 fine is being used to encourage people to complete their tax returns.
Anyone who has not completed the self assessment by Thursday, January 31 will receive the penalty with larger ‘late-filing’ fines after three, six and 12 months.
To complete the tax return online go to www.hmrc.gov.uk/signup or for more information call the Self Assessment helpline on 0845 9000 444.
