Marketing award for Fox and Hounds

January 04, 2013

The landlord and landlady of a popular Theale pub have been rewarded for being among the best in their company.

Daryl and Katie Cooper, of The Fox & Hounds in Station Road, won marketing pub of the year at the Wadworth brewery ceremony in Devizes, Wiltshire.

The pub was chosen for its use of marketing and proactive communication to build and sustain business – and being rewarded with a loyal and growing number of customers.

The Broad Street Tavern, in Wokingham, received a silver award in the same category, which was sponsored by Coca Cola Schweppes.

Paul Sullivan, Wadworth sales and marketing director, said: “Our licensees work hard all year round and at this ceremony we reward those whose efforts are particularly noteworthy.

“Times are testing for everyone in the pub trade, but our winners have demonstrated that good management, excellent beer and creative marketing can build a highly successful pub business.”
